Sibelius 2 Look and feel

These pages refer solely to the upgrade from Sibelius 1.x to Sibelius 2. All the improvements and many more are incorporated in the more recent upgrade to Sibelius 6.

Sibelius is more elegant and beautiful than ever, with a new look which complements the interfaces of Mac OS X and Windows XP. The toolbar and keypad are clearer, plus there's a slick new Properties window.

We've also reorganized some of the menus and keyboard shortcuts to make them even simpler and more efficient.

The navigator, keypad and new Properties and Mixer windows are translucent so you can see music under them (Windows 2000/XP)

Sibelius's 'desk' is now textured as well as the paper. Over 50 high-quality textures to choose from are included

Built for Mac OS XMac OS X

The Mac version of Sibelius 2, to be released in the first quarter of 2002, is one of the first music applications to be fully 'carbonized' for Mac OS X, taking full advantage of the improvements in the new operating system, such as simpler MIDI setup, a more attractive interface, and better stability. Sibelius 2 also fully supports Mac OS 8.6 and 9.x (users with early Mac OS versions will need to upgrade to Mac OS 8.6* or later).

*Mac OS 8.6 is a free upgrade from Mac OS 8.5, but users of earlier versions of Mac OS should see www.apple.com for upgrade details.
