Hit Points Staff
Version 01.06.00
Added 06 Jun 2006 (last updated 24 Jun 2012)
For use with Sibelius 4 and Sibelius 4.1
This plug-in adds an extra staff to your score and places notes on that staff at corresponding locations to your hit points. This makes it easy to see the musical location of your hit points.
To use the plug-in:
- First, add the hit points to the score, in whatever way you like (e.g. add them one by one via the Play > Video and Time > Hit Points dialog, or using the little clapperboard button in the Video window).
- Second, choose Hit Points Staff from whichever folder in the Plug-ins menu to which you installed it. You may be prompted that this action can't be undone; click Yes to continue.
- The plug-in will then create a single-line percussion staff in your score, and add silent eighth notes (quavers) at the nearest semiquaver (16th note) position to the hit point's time position.
- You can then e.g. change the time signature and add or edit metronome marks to plan our your cue. Each time you make a change that causes the hit points to move, simply run the plug-in again, and it will remove the old notes and add new ones in the appropriate positions.
You can assign a keyboard shortcut to your plug-in to make it easy to run on demand. Go to File > Preferences (in the Sibelius menu on Mac), choose the Menus and Shortcuts page, and then assign a shortcut to the plug-in.
For Sibelius 5, use the shipping version of this plugin.
